Welcome to St Mary's College. This is a Catholic, Mercy College which offers an excellent education for girls. Our tradition of academic excellence has continued since 1850 when the College was established to provide an education for young women from Wellington and the surrounding area. The Sisters of Mercy are the Proprietor's of the College.

Location and Facilities
St Mary's is located in the central city next to Parliament and other historic buildings. We are within close walking distance of the railway station, and all public transport. Our buildings have won architectural design awards and many of our rooms have views across Wellington harbour. Specialist facilities include Science laboratories, Technology suites, Gymnasium, Art and Music suites.

Academic programmes
Our curriculum provides a wide range of programmes and opportunities for students of all abilities. We prepare students to enter New Zealand Universities and other tertiary institutes. Religious Education is taught at every Year Level.

English Language Support
Specialist English Language support is provided. The teacher will assess your daughter's English and work with the Academic Dean and Senior staff to ensure that she is placed in the courses that are best suited to her. ESOL support is provided at each year level

Extra-curricular Programme
All students at St Mary's have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of cultural and sporting activities. The extra-curricular programmes are a special feature of the College. We aim to provide activities which will interest all students.

Accomodation
Homestay families are carefully selected. Each one will provide excellent care of your daughter. Our International Student Manager works with the students and their homestay families to ensure that students are well cared for.

Fees
Annual tuition fees for 2010 are NZ$12,600. Homestay $220 per week. Homestay support NZ$600. Uniform approx NZ$900. Insurance NZ$440
