Students are able to study towards National Certificates in Aviation, Meat Retailing, Carpentry, Computing, Early Childhood Educationand Care, Civil Infrastructure, Horticulture, Mechanical Engineering, Fitness Foundation Skills, Sports Turf Management Travel and Tourism and Animal Care & Vet Nursing.

A full and comprehensive range of academic and vocation courses are available. Public Transport Information:
Rongotai College has a well developed community school bus service, which drops students off / picks up almost at the main school door. Wellington has an excellent public transport network of buses and suburban trains. Getting around the inner city is easy because it is so compact.

* Bus Services - Bus services are available throughout Wellington and are offered by several bus companies.
* Train Services - From Wellington, there are train lines going all over the North Island. More importantly, there is a good network of train services between Wellington city and the Hutt Valley, Porirua, Kapiti Coast and the northern Wellington suburbs.
* Cable Car - The hill-climbing cable car travels between Lambton Quay, the Kelburn campus of Victoria University, and the Botanic Garden every 10 minutes.
* Ferries - There are also regular ferries between Wellington waterfront, Matiu/Somes Island (in the middle of the harbour), Petone and Days Bay near Eastbourne.

Local Activities:
Rongotai College is located in Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand, known for having vibrant city centre and varied and stimulating entertainment programmes (e.g. Festival of the Arts). Wellington has a beautiful harbour surrounded by bush-covered hills which provide an excellent area for both recreational activities and our extensive Outdoor Education programme. Rongotai College is five minutes from the international and domestic airport and ten minutes from the centre of the city.

Wellington is built in a hilly amphitheatre around a fine, deep harbour, and is surrounded by natural beauty. The central city is home to many theatres, galleries, festivals, restaurants and shops.

The wider region offers unlimited recreational and sporting activities from mountain biking to fishing. Snow skiing is just four hours' drive away.

Wellington is also a natural gateway to the South Island. Daily ferry services provide access to the stunning Marlborough Sounds region.

Student Welfare
The College is a signatory to the Government's Code of Practice and is bound by New Zealand statutory conditions for International Students. The College has a Dean who monitors International Students schooling, welfare and Homesteads. All International students are able to access Student guidance systems e.g.: Deans, Guidance Counselor, Form Teachers and the Principal for any issues. International students have the exclusive use of a room especially for them in the College
Homestays are arranged with New Zealand families and are Police vetted and monitored through out the year by the College. All International students are meet by the Dean of International students once a week to ensure their academic and welfare needs are being met.
The students participate in an Orientation programme on their arrival and a Wellington Heritage / sights programme in term 3.

English Language Support
English language testing is done when students arrive. ESOL classes are then established according to the needs of the individual students.


Fees
Annual tuition fees in 2010 are N.Z.$12,000. Homestay $220 per week. Homestay placement / Supervision fee $400.00.
Uniform approx. $480.
Insurance is compulsory and Individually secured by the students.
